We are a diverse team of capacity developers spread throughout Europe who come from multidisciplinary backgrounds and are engaged in different types of policy work. But we are joined in our shared passion for training as a profession and commitment to fostering more engagement and use of research evidence in decision-making processes. All are seasoned facilitators certified to deliver ICPA’s policy modules.
The team is a highly experienced capacity development unit who:
- have been in the game for more than 15 years
- led more than 400 workshops for 450 workshops for 5500 trainees from 65 countries in 8 languages
- supported policy actors from Civil Society to Academia to Civil Service
- worked with multiple individual organisations, as well as national, regional and international networks
- worked extensively in Europe (East and West), Central Asia, Caucasus and West Africa
- worked on 18 policy fellowship programmes with multiple partners and networks, including the Open Society Foundations, UNDP, European Fund for the Balkans, Regional Research Promotion Programme for the Western Balkans, Internews, Eurasia Foundation, German Council on Foreign Relations, Norwegian Institute of International Affairs and Gulbenkian Foundation.
We are a core team of 9 capacity developers, but ICPA has also trained and certified teams of trainers in Serbia (2), Montenegro (3), Macedonia (2) and West Africa (7 trainers from 6 countries). The work of these teams is coordinated by local partner organisations, but please get in touch with us at info@policyadvocacy.org if you’re interested in our broader team.
